about my work
Of course I could (or should) write about my work here, about the why and the how and the possible meaning. Sometimes I produce some fragments of text, mostly when my work is changing.
In 2000, I officially became an artist. At the time I painted mostly scenery, wild, cultivated, deserted or destroyed. Sometimes the space was populated, sometimes it disappeared behind my characters, often it was empty of human and animal life. I still like these subjects, I often need them and they are important as carriers of meaning but they're always less important than paint, pencils and other material I use and experiment with, less important than the many different ways in which lines and color fields interact and can be put on paper or linen.
In 2007 my work changed a lot. I quit painting and started drawing gardens after nature. I also started series of small drawings, exploring the possibilities of simple materials - mostly- to regain freedom. Gradually I got back to basics: to black and white, structure & construction, texture & space & scenery. I perceived this change as a new beginning; it was like spring, like cleaning my house.
In 2009 a new change occurred I made hundreds of photographs to use for cutting and pasting, for new ideas and inspiration. The magic word for organizing this material will be 'autobiography'.
Slowly I start to accept that in my artwork everything is possible. In my earlier life I could never concentrate on one subject or one type of work. It may not happen in my artwork either. Actually my scope keeps broadening. Look at my work and you'll see.
